From January 1st 2020, almost 2 million people in Innlandet, Viken and Oslo municipalities will get their power from Norway´s largest power grid operator, Elvia.
Elvia is a result of the merger between Hafslund Nett and Eidsiva Nett, which was announced in the second half of 2019.
- Elvia is a big company with thousands of customers, and we know we have both an important mission and a great responsibility to deliver such an important service as electricity to most of south-eastern Norway. Our ambition is to ensure a stable power supply for our customers, while at the same time looking for, and using, good, future-oriented solutions, to keep the grid rent as low as possible, says Elvia CEO Kristin Lian.
Customers who are currently receiving their electric power from Hafslund or Eidsiva will not immediately notice that they have a new power grid operator, but by the end of 2020, the Elvia name will gradually become more visible. A new website will be in place during the year, as will signs on buildings, work clothes for employees, and the company's social media profiles.
- For now, our customers should use the same phone numbers and websites they are familiar with today, and we will do our best to make the transition to Elvia as seamless as possible, says Lian.
Elvia will be headquartered in Hamar, and office at Skøyen in Oslo.
